LYCIA, Myra. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (31mm, 19.24 g, 12h). AYT KAI M ANT ΓOPΔIANOC CЄB, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / MYPЄ (HΩ)N, column surmounted by statue of Apollo Propylaeus (?) standing right, holding bow and spear; laurel tree on either side at base of column; all surrounded by fence. Von Aulock, Münzprägung 169 (example broken with pieces missing); SNG von Aulock -; BMC -. VF, dark green patina with earthen overtones, some roughness on obverse. Extremely rare and much better than the specimen published by von Aulock.
